It’s the land that has inspired painters, writers and poets, and nowadays landscape photographers.

The Lake District is often blessed with amazing light, and the colours, particularly in autumn, make this place an inspiring place to learn and improve your photography.

Fabulous Lakes and Mountains to photograph

Beautiful mountain backdrops

The Lake District in northern England is famed for its picturesque lakes and breathtaking mountain backdrops. It is a great place to learn or improve your photography skills.

While England may not be known for its soaring mountains, the Lake District is home to England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike. It also contains the deepest and longest lakes in the country.

In 2017 the Lake District National Park became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There are over 16 lakes, the most well-known being Buttermere, Windermere, Coniston, Ullswater and Derwentwater.

We will visit the best lakes with the best mountain backdrops in order to ensure you get to capture the rugged beauty and amazing light this region is often blessed with at sunrise or sunset.

Long exposures and composition

This lake district photography workshop will take in a variety of locations, including some of the lesser known and hidden spots such as Lingmoor Fell.

Here you can also learn some creative photography techniques such as long exposures effects on rivers, the fine art of composing in forested areas and much more.

I will have a full range of NISI filters for your to use if you don’t have your own. These workshop groups are kept small to ensure each person gets plenty of one to one tuition time.
